Fisheries ensures fisheries remain sustainable and productive by monitoring, determining and controlling access and development as needed; providing education and enforced fishing regulations to promote equitable access to fisheries resources.
South Australia
Primary Industries and Regions SA (PIRSA) is the government agency responsible for the ecologically sustainable development of South Australia’s aquatic resources.
PIRSA Fisheries and Aquaculture division enables the sustainable development of South Australia’s aquatic resources and the balanced growth of our fisheries and aquaculture industries. PIRSA manages South Australia's fish stocks in partnership with industry and the community.
Tasmania
The Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment (Tasmania) manages recreational and commercial sea fisheries with a strong focus on promoting sustainable fisheries practices.
Victoria
The Victorian Fisheries Authority ensures that all Victorian fisheries are sustainably managed, so everyone can enjoy fish now and into the future.
Western Australia
The Western Australian Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development primary responsibility is to conserve, sustainably develop and share the use of Western Australia’s aquatic resources and their ecosystems for the benefit of present and future generations.
Northern Territory
The Northern Territory Department of Industry Tourism and Trade is responsible for fisheries management and compliance across the Territory.
